How to cancel a domain name at Hostinger

What to do if you no longer want to use a domain

Updated 4 weeks ago

Learn what to do if you no longer want to use a domain at Hostinger. Due to domain name regulations, once a domain is registered, it remains active until its expiration date — this is why domain names can’t be deleted from your account, and also why they can’t be changed after purchase.

Let a domain expire

If you no longer wish to use a domain name — disable its auto-renewal and let it expire. You can check the domain’s expiration date in the Domains section of your Hostinger account:

Once a domain reaches its expiration date, it enters a phase during which it may still be renewed. When this phase ends, the domain name will be automatically deleted.
