With the help of Google’s Removals Tool, you may temporarily (up to six months) block any of your website pages from appearing in Google search results. This is different from requesting that Google index a page, which asks Google to add a page to search results rather than remove one.
To make sure a page never appears in the search results, hide it from search engines in your website’s SEO settings.
Remove a page using Google’s Removals Tool
To remove a page from Google using the Removals Tool, follow the steps below.
- Open your Google Search Console (GSC) account. If you haven’t used GSC before, add and verify your domain name first, or verify a URL property at Google Search Console if you need ownership at the URL level instead of the domain level.
- In GSC, open the Removals tab on the left and click on New request:

- Insert the URL of the page you want to remove from Google search results, select Remove all URLs with this prefix, and click on Next:

And that’s it!
NOTES
- Google normally processes such removal requests within a few days to a week, but the exact time frame can vary.
- If you run into issues along the way, check common warnings in Google Search Console for troubleshooting help.
- For broader context on getting pages indexed in the first place, see how to make your website appear on Google and confirm your website’s sitemap is set up correctly.
