Managing product visibility allows you to control which items are visible to your customers without deleting them from your inventory. By switching a product’s status, you can hide seasonal items, prepare new listings in draft mode, or temporarily remove products that are out of stock. This is also useful when you want to hide a product from a specific product category without removing it from your store entirely.
Inactive products remain in your store management database, but are not accessible via the public storefront or direct product pages.
How to change product visibility
Follow these steps to set your product status to active or inactive:
- Open your Store Manager.
- Go to Products and click the product to open the Edit product page.
- Scroll to the Sales channels card. The Status box at the top of the page also shows how many sales channels the product is live on, for example 3 of 4 channels.
- Under Live on or Hidden from, select the sales channel you want to change.
- Turn the toggle off to hide the product from that sales channel, or on to make it visible again. When the toggle is on, Customers can buy this product here appears.
When it’s off, Product is hidden from customers appears.
- Click Save.
Updating the visibility status ensures your storefront always displays relevant items to your customers. You can toggle these settings at any time to manage your catalog efficiently as your inventory changes.
