Does Hostinger support multimedia content?
Embedded multimedia content can be added to a website hosted on any Hostinger plan.
An important consideration is that multimedia may require a substantial amount of resources. If you are planning to host large multimedia files, our VPS plans might be the ideal choice for you. Virtual Private Servers include dedicated resources for greater stability; and, being self-managed, they provide all the flexibility needed to optimize server settings specifically for multimedia content.
Can compilers or compiled scripts be hosted at Hostinger?
A compiler is a software tool that translates human-readable source code written in a high-level programming language into machine code or executable code that a computer can understand and execute.
Due to the technical, resource and permission requirements to run compilers, installing any compilers, compiling scripts or running compiled programs is not supported on our Web and Cloud hosting plans.
If you’re interested in using compilers for languages such as Python, Java, Ruby and more, you can consider one of our VPS plans. Virtual private servers provide you with root access so you have complete control to configure your server according to your specific needs. In addition, it has dedicated Resources, ensuring high performance and stability.
Can background processes be executed via SSH at Hostinger?
On Web or Cloud hosting plans, a scheduled task can be created directly from hPanel. A cron job performs the task or script automatically at the scheduled time. You can manage the cron jobs on your account following this guide: How to Set up a Cron Job at Hostinger.
For more customization of scheduled processes, such as a specific run time or access to edit crontab directly, this level of control is supported on VPS Hosting plans.
Please note that any background processes you schedule will increase the resource usage of your account, such as CPU and RAM. In case you reach some limits, you can temporarily terminate all processes:

Is streaming supported at Hostinger?
Streaming is the real-time transmission of audio and video content over the internet, enabling users to access music, radio shows, podcasts, movies, TV series, and live events instantly.
At Hostinger, audio and video streaming is supported exclusively on our Virtual Private Servers (VPS). Due to the technical and resource requirements for ensuring a smooth streaming experience, only the VPS environment is suited for handling the demands of streaming media content efficiently.
Is cPanel/WHM supported at Hostinger?

Is DDoS protection included at Hostinger?
DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) protection involves a set of measures and technologies designed to mitigate and prevent large-scale cyber attacks intended to disrupt websites by flooding them with a very large volume of traffic from multiple sources.
All Web hosting and Cloud hosting plan servers use advanced hardware firewalls and other security measures to prevent most DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) risks by default.
If you have a Web Business plan or higher, you can also enable Hostinger CDN and use Under Attack Mode in case of a suspected DDoS attack.
Is offshore hosting supported at Hostinger?
Hostinger offers a variety of server locations to choose from. You can select your server location during order setup, or change it later from Websites → Dashboard → Plan Details in hPanel. See how to transfer your hosting plan to a different server for the full process.
Is Windows hosting available at Hostinger?
No. Hostinger offers only Linux-based operating system templates for VPS — Windows VPS isn’t available. Any software you want to install must be supported on a Linux distribution, such as Ubuntu or Debian.

What is the server timezone at Hostinger?
The default timezone used on all Web hosting and Cloud hosting plan server operations is Coordinated Universal Time (UTC+0), also written as UTC+00:00 — the same as Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+00:00).
This global server timezone can’t be changed directly, but you have a couple of alternatives:
- Use the PHP date_default_timezone function to set a different timezone for your website.
- Set a different timezone for a database session via phpMyAdmin.
If you need full control over the global server timezone, consider a VPS plan, which lets you configure it directly.
