FreeLLMAPI is a self-hosted API gateway that puts dozens of free large language model providers behind a single OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Instead of wiring each provider SDK, quota rule, and rate limit into your application, you register your free-tier keys once and let the gateway pick a healthy model, retry across providers when one throttles you, and fall back automatically when a request fails.
Running it on your own VPS keeps every provider credential encrypted on hardware you control rather than in a third-party relay, and gives your scripts, agents, and editors one stable base URL that never changes when you swap models. The bundled dashboard tracks request analytics, per-provider caps, and routing decisions so you can see exactly where each call went.
