The Hostinger AI Builder is a visual, easy-to-use, non-file-based platform. This means you do not manage the underlying codebase directly, and traditional file management methods such as FTP, SSH, or the File Manager are not supported for editing site files.
Hosting storage and limits
The Hostinger AI Builder has a separate storage system; therefore, it affects your plan resources differently than a file-based site like custom PHP/HTML or WordPress. See what’s the difference between Hostinger AI Builder and other CMS for more on this distinction.
- Disk quota: AI Builder sites do not consume any of the hosting plan’s disk space allocation
- Inodes: Builder sites do not count toward your inode limit.
- File storage: The standard File Manager in hPanel is reserved for custom PHP or HTML websites and does not interact with your AI Builder content. Instead, all supported files for manual mode are managed through the Media Library.
Alternatives for custom file management for manual mode
If your project requires more flexibility or large-scale file handling not supported by the Media Library, you can host files on separately using the following methods:
- External providers: Upload files to services like Google Drive or Dropbox and adjust the sharing permissions. Then, link to those files within the AI Builder.
- Hostinger hosting plan storage: You can host files on a separate website on your Hostinger hosting plan.
- Add a new empty custom PHP/HTML website to your hosting plan.
- Connect the new website to a custom domain or subdomain.
- Upload your files to this new site using the File Manager.
- In the Hostinger AI Builder, link a button, text or image element to the file’s URL.
This method allows you to expand your website’s file capabilities while maintaining your design within the Hostinger AI Builder interface.
NOTE
- For security reasons, linking certain file types is not supported regardless of their source.
