Affiliate marketing

Affiliate marketing is a performance-based marketing, where an external partner is paid a commission for delivering a specific result to an advertiser. It can be a sale, a new newsletter subscriber, a download of an app and etc.

Affiliate marketing is based on a revenue sharing model. A company that has a product and wants to sell more can offer a commission to promoters through an affiliate program. While affiliate marketers, even though they don’t have any products themselves, can promote products that they like and earn an income from it!

To put it simply: Affiliate marketing is the process of earning a commission by promoting products of other people and companies.

Affiliate tracking

We track the sales by tracking (affiliate) links and cookies. When a user clicks on your tracking link, we place cookies into their browser and they help us recognize that it is your referred user.

A tracking link, also known as an affiliate link, is a special URL that helps us identify that a particular referral came from your reference. Hostinger uses this mechanism to determine which links bring conversions. More specifically, the tracking link can:

- Recognize where the user came from;

- Check whether they make a purchase or not;

- Validate the conversion.

Here is how to find your tracking link:

1) Once you log in to your dashboard, scroll to the “Featured Offers” section and click on your offer;

2) Once you open the offer, you'll be able to access landing pages you'd love to link to and an automatically generated tracking link.

Yes, the commission will then be converted to USD.

The affiliate cookies are stored for 30 days. However, if a previous affiliate’s cookie is already placed in the same user’s browser, it will be overwritten with the new cookie. Hostinger does not hold any responsibility for cookies that are deleted intentionally by the user.

The performance data is continuously updated, and you will be able to see new clicks and conversions in a matter of minutes.

There are several reasons why it might have happened:

- The purchase was not made through a tracking link;

- The system has detected a high risk of fraud;

- Your referral did not enable cookies or has cleaned them up;

- The user has canceled the services;

- Your referral was already an existing client of Hostinger;

- Your referral clicked on another affiliate tracking link and commissions were attributed to another partner.

- Your referral bought services that do not qualify for commissions.

Hostinger offers a 30-day money-back guarantee. During this trial period, the clients may still be able to cancel the plan. If the client cancels their plan during the trial period, the commission is also revoked.

Hostinger tracks your sales through your affiliate links. Transactions made without an affiliate link won't be attributed to you.
