When Email Verification is Required
In Hostinger, email verification is triggered in the following scenarios:
- New registrations – When you register a new domain
- Transfers – When transferring a domain to Hostinger
- Contact changes – When you update the registrant contact information
- Domain moves – When moving a domain between Hostinger accounts
Verification Timeline and Requirements
According to ICANN requirements, a domain name’s contact details must be verified within 15 days. Otherwise, it will get suspended until verification is completed.
Special requirements for India-related domains:
- All domain registrations where the registrant country is India
- All .IN TLD domains, regardless of registrant country
These domains’ contact details must be verified within 7 days to avoid suspension.
If your domain is suspended due to a failed verification, the nameservers will change automatically to the registrar ones – on the DNS Checker Tool, it will look similar to this:

When this happens, all of your domain-related services, such as website and email, will stop working.
What should you do if the domain is suspended?
To unsuspend your domain, navigate to hPanel and verify your domain. After successfully verifying your domain contact details, the nameservers will revert to the original values, triggering DNS propagation. Your domain will be back online in 24 hours or less.
Solving possible verification issues
The verification email can take up to 15 minutes to arrive. If you have not received it after that time, check your Spam folder. If it’s not there, try resending the verification email from the domain management page in hPanel.
If you used a non-existent email for your domain, update your domain’s contact details with the correct email address and contact us – we’ll help you verify your domain.
