If you notice two identical charges for the same Hostinger service, this article helps you gather the necessary information to resolve the issue. Duplicate charges can occur due to connection timeouts during checkout or manual processing errors.
Before you start
-
Check your Hostinger Balance in hPanel. In some cases, if a payment was successful but couldn’t be applied to an invoice it will be automatically added as credit balance.
-
Verify that the charges are for the exact same amount and service to rule out separate renewals.
How to report a duplicate payment
Since billing corrections require manual review, you must provide specific details to speed up the investigation:
- Identify the payment method: Whether you used a credit card, PayPal, or another provider.
- Collect payment source details:
- For PayPal: The email address associated with the account and the unique transaction IDs.
- For credit cards: The first 6 and last 4 digits of the card.
- For other methods: The email used for the transaction and a PDF proof of payment from the provider.
- Record the transaction data: The exact date and the specific amount of the duplicate charge.
- Contact Hostinger support: Click the Ask button in your hPanel to initiate a chat and provide the collected details.
Once you provide these details, our team will locate the referred transactions and process a refund or credit to your Hostinger Balance if applicable.
NOTES
- Do not share your full credit card number or CVV code in the chat for security reasons.
- You can purchase the same domain name multiple times if the initial registration hasn’t been completed yet. To avoid duplicate charges, always verify that your domain is fully registered and active in your hPanel before attempting to buy it again.
