Using Tags in Hostinger Reach

Updated 1 month ago

Tags in Hostinger Reach help you organize your contacts and make audience segmentation more flexible and powerful. By assigning tags to contacts, you can later use them to build targeted segments and send more relevant campaigns.

This article explains what tags are, how they are currently created, how they are used in segmentation, and what improvements are coming next.

What Are Tags in Hostinger Reach?

A tag is a label applied to contacts that helps categorize them based on how they were collected or what they represent.

Tags are mainly used for:

  • Organizing contacts
  • Creating precise audience segments
  • Targeting specific groups in campaigns and automations

For example:

  • You upload a CSV file and assign a tag like Imported contacts
  • Later, you create a segment that includes only contacts with this tag
  • You send campaigns exclusively to that audience

How Tags Are Used in Segmentation

Tags are most powerful when combined with segments.

When creating a segment, you can:

  • Include contacts that have a specific tag
  • Exclude contacts that do not have a specific tag
  • Combine multiple tag conditions

Example Segment Logic

  • Contacts that have Tag A
  • AND have Tag B
  • AND do not have Tag C

This allows you to create highly targeted audiences using simple tag-based rules.

How Tags Are Currently Created in Hostinger Reach

At the moment, tags are created automatically by Reach in specific scenarios.

Tags from Website Forms (Hostinger Website Builder & WordPress)

When you connect a:

  • Hostinger Website Builder site, or
  • WordPress site

and your site has subscription forms:

  • Reach automatically creates a tag using the form’s title
  • A segment based on that tag is also created automatically

This gives you an immediate starting point for targeting contacts who subscribed through a specific form.

Important: Tags and segments are created only after at least one form submission is received.

Tags from CSV Imports

When uploading contacts via a CSV file:

  • You are prompted to assign a tag to the import
  • Reach suggests a tag automatically, usually including:
    • Import date
    • CSV file name

Once the import is completed:

  • The tag is applied to all imported contacts
  • A segment based on that tag is created (if selected during import)
Tip: If you want multiple CSV imports to belong to the same group, reuse the same tag across imports.

Current Limitations of Tags

At this time, Hostinger Reach does not support:

  • Creating tags manually
  • Assigning or removing tags from individual contacts
  • Viewing a full list of tags and their associated contacts

Tags are currently generated only through:

  • Website form submissions
  • CSV file imports

Upcoming Tag Features (Planned for Q1 2026)

Tag functionality in Hostinger Reach will be expanded with new features, including:

  • Ability to create tags manually
  • Assign or remove tags from contacts based on conditions
  • Overview of all tags in your account
  • Visibility into which contacts have specific tags
  • Advanced filtering to automatically apply or remove tags

These improvements will make tags a more powerful tool for contact management and automation.
