Google Analytics<\/a><\/b> helps understand a website’s visitors and check the performance of your site.<\/p>

The below-given instructions apply to sites created with Hostinger Website Builder 💡 <\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>

Before You Begin<\/h2>

At the moment, there are two types of Google Analytics properties:<\/p>

    \n
  1. \n

    Google Analytics 4 <\/b>(Measurement ID: G-XXXXXXX<\/b>) <\/b>– recommended<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    Universal Analytics<\/b> <\/i>(Tracking ID: UA-XXXXXX-X)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>

    For now, both types of properties are supported, but it’s highly recommended to use Google Analytics 4<\/b>, as the other one stopped processing data on July 1, 2023<\/a><\/b>.<\/p>

    For tracking scripts to work properly, make sure that a cookie banner<\/a> <\/b>is enabled on your website 💡 <\/p>\n<\/div>

    Connect Google Analytics to Your Website<\/h2>

    To connect Google Analytics to your website, you only need to know the Measurement ID <\/b>of your Google Analytics 4 property.<\/p>

    \n<\/p>

    Within the editor, open your website’s integrations settings<\/a><\/b>, find the Google Analytics<\/b> field, and insert your <\/b>Measurement ID<\/a><\/b> <\/b>there:<\/p>

    Save the changes, and update your website<\/a><\/b>. You should receive the first reports<\/a><\/b> in 24 hours.<\/p>

    \n<\/p>

    Find Your Measurement ID<\/h2>
      \n
    1. \n

      Sign in to your Google Analytics account<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    2. \n

      Click on Admin <\/b>in the bottom left<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    3. \n

      At the top of the Property<\/b> column, select your property<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    4. \n

      In the Property <\/b>column, click on Data streams<\/b><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    5. \n

      Click on the data stream for which you need the ID<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    6. \n

      The ID (G-XXXXXXX<\/b>) appears in the top right<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>

      Or follow this instruction by Google Analytics<\/a><\/b>.<\/p>

      \n<\/p>

      Create a New Google Analytics 4 Property (Optional)<\/h2>
      \n

      This is an optional step for those who don’t use Google Analytics 4 <\/b>yet and\/or want to create a new Google Analytics 4 property 💡 <\/p>\n<\/div>

      1. In your Google Analytics account<\/a><\/b>, open the Admin <\/b>section in the bottom left and click on Create property<\/b>:<\/p>

      2. Provide the necessary details: property name, time zone, currency, and click on Next<\/b>:<\/p>

      3. Fill in your Business information<\/b> and click on Create<\/b>:<\/p>

      4. For a platform to collect data from, select Web<\/b>:<\/p>

      5. Insert your domain name and the name of your web stream. Customize the settings if needed, and click on Create stream<\/b>:<\/p>

      You may be asked to insert your Google tag into your website. Dismiss that window and find the measurement ID<\/b> instead – that’s all you need to know to connect Google Analytics to your website<\/a><\/b>:<\/p>

      6. You will find the Measurement ID<\/b> on the right:<\/p>

      Troubleshoot<\/h2>

      First, make sure that you’ve inserted the correct tracking ID<\/a> <\/b>(G-XXXXXXXXXX) <\/b>in your website’s integrations settings<\/b>:<\/p>

      It’s also important to update your website<\/a><\/b> once any code or ID is added, edited, or removed from the integrations settings, as this is how the changes are updated in your website’s source code.<\/p>

      \n<\/p>

      If everything seems to be set up correctly, but you still can’t see any data in Google Analytics yet, don’t worry – the first reports arrive 24 hours<\/b> after successfully integrating Google Analytics into your website.<\/p>

      \n<\/p>

      Yet, if you’re eager for statistics, you can check the Realtime report<\/a><\/b>. Open your website, and, in another tab, go to Google Analytics<\/b> → Realtime<\/b> → Overview<\/b>. If you have your website open, you should see at least one visitor (yourself) there, which means that your Google Analytics has been set up correctly:<\/p>
