The recipients must confirm their subscription by clicking a button in the email.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When double opt-in is enabled:<\/span><\/p><ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A user submits their email address to subscribe your newsletter<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Reach <\/span><b>automatically<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> sends a confirmation email.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The user must click <\/span><b>Confirm your email <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">button.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Only after confirmation the contact appears as a <\/span><b>Subscribed<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> contact in your Reach account.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This means you can be confident that your email marketing campaigns are sent only to real and confirmed recipients.<\/span><\/p><h2 id=\"h-when-double-opt-in-applies\"><b>When Double Opt-in Applies<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Double opt-in works only for <\/span><b>automatically synced contacts<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, meaning contacts that are submitted through integrations where you do not manually control each email address.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This includes contacts synced through:<\/span><\/p><ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">WordPress forms and plugins<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Hostinger Website Builder forms and eCommerce checkout forms<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Public API integrations such as custom subscription forms connected via API<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Double opt-in does <\/span><b>not<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> apply when:<\/span><\/p><ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You add contacts manually in the Reach dashboard<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You upload contacts via a CSV file<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In these cases, it is expected that you already have the recipient&rsquo;s consent to send email marketing.<\/span><\/p><h2 id=\"h-double-opt-in-emails-and-email-limits\"><b>Double Opt-in Emails and Email Limits<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Confirmation emails are sent automatically and do not require any extra automation setup to send confirmation emails.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Additionally:<\/span><\/p><ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Double opt-in confirmation emails do <\/span><b>not<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> count toward your monthly email sending limits.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If the feature is enabled, it works automatically for all contacts who were added automatically..<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul><h2 id=\"h-how-to-enable-double-opt-in-in-reach\"><b>How to Enable Double Opt-in in Reach<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To manage double opt-in settings:<\/span><\/p><ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Open your Reach dashboard.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Go to <\/span><b>Settings<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Select <\/span><b>Subscribe settings<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Toggle <\/span><b>Double opt-in<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> ON.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To enable and use double opt-in, you must first connect a working domain.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You can connect:<\/span><\/p><ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A domain purchased at Hostinger<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A domain purchased from another provider<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you do not have a domain, you will need to purchase one before you can send professional email marketing campaigns.<\/span><\/p><h2 id=\"h-customizing-the-double-opt-in-email\"><b>Customizing the Double Opt-in Email<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">After enabling double opt-in, you will be able to preview the confirmation email in the <\/span><b>Subscribe settings<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> section.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You cannot edit the confirmation email content like text. But, you can customize the default confirmation email by:<\/span><\/p><ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Applying your brand details (based on your Reach brand details settings)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Resetting the style to use the default Reach style<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Editing the subject line<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Editing the sender email<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You can also preview the confirmation page that recipients see after clicking the confirmation button.<\/span><\/p><div class=\"intercom-interblocks-callout\" style=\"background-color: #e3e7fa80;border-color: #334bfa33\"><b>Note<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: If you are using the Reach free plan, the double opt-in confirmation email includes a Reach watermark. To remove the watermark, you need to upgrade to a paid Reach plan. Once upgraded, the watermark will be automatically removed.<\/span><\/div><h2 id=\"h-contact-statuses-and-double-opt-in\"><b>Contact Statuses and Double Opt-in<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When double opt-in is enabled and a contact is automatically synced, their status will initially be:<\/span><\/p><ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Waiting for opt-in<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Once the recipients confirms their email through the confirmation email, their status changes to:<\/span><\/p><ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Subscribed<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Reach also shows whether a contact joined through:<\/span><\/p><ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Double opt-in<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (confirmation required)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>Single opt-in<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (no confirmation email)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Single opt-in means the contact was added as subscribed immediately, without receiving a confirmation email.<\/span><\/p><h2 id=\"h-sending-emails-to-contacts-waiting-for-opt-in\"><b>Sending Emails to Contacts Waiting for Opt-in<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You can only send email marketing campaigns and automations to contacts with the <\/span><b>Subscribed<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> status.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If a contact is still <\/span><b>Waiting for opt-in<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, they will not receive:<\/span><\/p><ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Scheduled newsletters<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Marketing campaigns<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Automations<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Once the recipients confirm their email, contact status automatically changes to Subscribes, and all campaigns and automations will work normally.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><br>\n<\/span><b><\/b><\/p><div class=\"intercom-interblocks-callout\" style=\"background-color: #e3e7fa80;border-color: #334bfa33\"><b>Tip<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">: If you have contacts who have been stuck in &lsquo;Waiting for opt-in&rsquo; status for 3+ weeks, it is recommended to delete such contacts from your Reach Contacts.<\/span><\/div><h2 id=\"h-how-double-opt-in-affects-smart-segments\"><b>How Double Opt-In Affects Smart Segments<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">When your form is connected to Hostinger Reach, every form submission is synced automatically. Reach also creates unique <\/span><b>tags<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> based on your form titles and generates <\/span><b>segments<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to help you easily target contacts coming from specific forms.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Normally, a segment is created automatically as soon as the first submission from that form appears in Reach.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">However, if <\/span><b>Double Opt-In<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is enabled, keep in mind that segments are created only after the recipients confirm&nbsp;their subscription.
