your website may be temporarily unavailable during the transfer<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This process works for moving websites:&nbsp;<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li data-stringify-indent=\"0\" data-stringify-border=\"1\">Between different Hosting plans under the same Hostinger account<\/li>\n<li data-stringify-indent=\"0\" data-stringify-border=\"1\">Between different Hosting plans under different Hostinger accounts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You&rsquo;ll need access to both the source (old) and destination (new) hosting plans<\/span><\/li>\n<li>If you own a <strong>WordPress<\/strong> website, you can check&nbsp; <a class=\"c-link c-message_attachment__title_link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/how-to-migrate-an-internal-website-automatically-at-hostinger\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-qa=\"message_attachment_title_link\"><span dir=\"auto\">How to migrate an internal website automatically at Hostinger?<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><div class=\"intercom-interblocks-callout\" style=\"background-color: #e3e7fa80;border-color: #334bfa33\">\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#10071;<\/span><b>IMPORTANT NOTES<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#10071;<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This procedure doesn&rsquo;t apply for websites created with Hostinger Website Builder: moving builder-based sites between Hostinger accounts is not yet available<\/span><b>.<\/b><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The steps below are meant for WordPress-based websites<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">For other content management systems, the flow might be slightly different.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">However, you&rsquo;ll still need to download and upload files (and databases, if applicable) for all kinds of CMS.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><h2 id=\"Option-1-Using-a-plugin\">Option 1 &ndash; Using a plugin<\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This procedure is recommended for websites with a total size of less than 512MB (including both files and database):<\/span><\/p><ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Install the<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/all-in-one-wp-migration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> All-in-One WP Migration<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> plugin, generate and download the .wpress file.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/3624731-how-to-delete-a-website-from-a-hosting-plan-in-hostinger\/#h_e28c9bd535\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Delete the original website<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/1583214-how-to-add-a-website-in-hostinger\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Add the website on your preferred hosting plan<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/3220304\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Install WordPress on the new hosting plan<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Use the All-in-One WP Migration plugin to restore the .wpress file.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If your website is larger than 512MB, you have the following alternatives:<\/span><\/p><ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Manually create and restore backups as shown in the <\/span><b>Option 2<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> below.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Purchase a license for the All-in-One WP Migration plugin &ndash; this will remove the upload size limit.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul><h2 id=\"Option-2-Manually-creating-and-restoring-backup\"><b>Option 2 &ndash; Manually creating and restoring backups<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This procedure is recommended for websites larger than 512MB, or if you prefer to perform the backup and restoration yourself.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Before generating the backup, check and note the correct database name. If you&rsquo;re not sure which database, check your<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/3313359-where-to-find-your-website-s-configuration-file\"> <b>website&rsquo;s configuration file<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and look for the <\/span><b>name of the database<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. If you use WordPress, you may also refer to this tutorial:<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/tutorials\/wordpress\/how-to-find-out-wordpress-database-name\"> <b>How to Find Your WordPress Database Name<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> &#128161;<\/span><\/p><h3 id=\"Step-1-Generate-and-download-your-website-backup\"><b>Step 1 &ndash; Generate and download your website&rsquo;s backup<\/b><\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Before moving your website, create a complete backup of all files and databases.<\/span><\/p><ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In hPanel, go to<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/hpanel.hostinger.com\/websites\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <b>Websites<\/b><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and click on<\/span><b> Dashboard <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">next to the website in question. The time indicates when the backup was created, in your local timezone. The time will vary depending on the size of your backup. The downloaded archive will contain all of your website&rsquo;s files &#128522;<\/p><p class=\"no-margin\">A similar process applies when downloading generated databases &ndash; select <b>Database backups<\/b>. They may still be able to provide a file backup within 90 days of the plan&rsquo;s expiration.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">You need to wait until the backup link is sent to your email; it can take up to 2 hours (depending on the size). Once the backup link is sent to your email, to find your&nbsp;<strong>website files<\/strong>, please download and extract the file with .tar.gz format. Once downloaded, you can extract it on your computer and open the&nbsp;<strong>domains<\/strong>&nbsp;folder to find the files for your websites.<br>\n<a class=\"editor-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/ph\/tutorials\/how-to-unzip-files\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">How to Unzip Files in Windows and macOS (2025)<\/a><\/li>\n<li data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">For the&nbsp;<strong>database<\/strong>, each website has one file, and it is the file with .sql.gz format. To find which .sql.gz file belongs to which website, you can check the database name inside the website&rsquo;s configuration file:<br>\n<a class=\"editor-link\" href=\"https:\/\/support.hostinger.com\/en\/articles\/3313359-how-to-find-the-website-s-configuration-file\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">How to find the website&rsquo;s configuration file<\/a>.<br>\nThen match the database name with the .sql.gz file. For example, if you see&nbsp;<strong>uXXXXXXX_example<\/strong>&nbsp;in the configuration file of&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-link\" href=\"http:\/\/example.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><strong>example.com<\/strong><\/a>, then you need to use the .sql.gz file that starts with&nbsp;<strong>uXXXXXXX_example<\/strong>&nbsp;for the website&nbsp;<a class=\"editor-link\" href=\"http:\/\/example.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><strong>example.com<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h3 id=\"Step-2-Delete-the-original-website\"><b>Step 2 &ndash; Delete the original website<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The next step is removing the original website from your hosting plan.
