Hostinger offers a robust VPS<\/a><\/b> (Virtual Private Server) hosting platform with various features, including a powerful malware scanner integrated with Monarx<\/b>. This combination allows you to proactively monitor and secure your VPS by detecting, managing, and cleaning compromised and malicious files.<\/p>

In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process of installing the Monarx detect agent on your VPS and explain how to view and manage scan results.<\/p>

Installing the Malware Scanner enables malware detection and scanning only. Automatic malware cleanup (removal of compromised or malicious files) requires a paid Monarx license. Without a license, you can review scan results and manually handle any detected files on your VPS.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Installing the malware scanner<\/h2>

In your Hostinger account, navigate to the VPS<\/a><\/b> section and click Manage<\/b> on your chosen VPS instance. Then, locate the Security<\/b> tab on the left and select Malware Scanner<\/b>. Once there, click on the banner:<\/p>

Finally, click on Install<\/b>:<\/p>

You won’t be able to manage your VPS while installation is in progress. It may take up to 60 minutes<\/b>.<\/p>

Using the malware scanner<\/h2>

Once the Malware Scanner is successfully installed, go to the VPS management dashboard and then go to Security<\/b> → Malware Scanner<\/b>. Here, you’ll find all the scan results.<\/p>

The dashboard provides an overview of the total scanned files, including their status:<\/p>
