Mattermost is an open-source, self-hosted messaging platform that provides secure team collaboration for organizations that need full control over their communications. Similar to Slack or Microsoft Teams, it offers real-time messaging, file sharing, and integrations – but on your own server. With the Ubuntu 24.04 with Mattermost VPS template, Mattermost comes pre-installed, so you can start collaborating immediately.<\/span><\/p>

Accessing Mattermost<\/b><\/h2>

Once your VPS is deployed, you don’t need to use SSH for setup. Simply:<\/span><\/p>

  1. Open your VPS dashboard in hPanel.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Click the <\/span>Manage App<\/b> button.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>

    This will take you to the Mattermost web interface in your browser.

    Initial Setup<\/b><\/h2>

    On your first visit, Mattermost will guide you through the configuration process:<\/span><\/p>

    1. You’ll be prompted to create a <\/span>System Admin<\/b> account by entering your email, username, and password.<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. Set up your first <\/span>team<\/b> by providing a team name and URL.<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. This System Admin account will be used to manage all server settings, users, and teams.<\/span><\/li>\n
    4. Once set up, you can begin creating channels, inviting team members, and configuring integrations.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>
