VNC allows users to connect to their VPS from any operating system, providing a graphical interface similar to what you would experience if you were sitting in front of the machine.<\/p><p class=\"no-margin\">\n<\/p><p class=\"no-margin\">To apply this OS template to your server, go to the<a href=\"https:\/\/hpanel.hostinger.com\/servers\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"intercom-content-link\" rel=\"noopener\"> VPS section<\/a> on hPanel and click on the server you want to manage.<\/p><p class=\"no-margin\">Then, navigate to OS &amp; Panel &rarr; Operating System from the left sidebar. Scroll down to the Change your Operating System section:<\/p><p class=\"no-margin\">\n<\/p><ol>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">Use the search bar to find Desktop<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">On the Application tab, select Ubuntu 24.04 with Remote Desktop<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">Click on Change OS<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol><p class=\"no-margin\">\n<\/p><div class=\"intercom-container\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2025\/03\/514f2f14-192b-4289-8982-8617a64159e9.jpg\"><\/div><p class=\"no-margin\">\n<\/p><div class=\"intercom-interblocks-callout\" style=\"background-color: #fed9db80;border-color: #fd3a5733\">\n<p class=\"no-margin\">Changing the operating system on your VPS will permanently delete all your current data. If you wish to keep your information, make sure to download a backup via FTP beforehand.<\/p>\n<\/div><p class=\"no-margin\">\n<\/p><h2 id=\"h_9d209c92fa\"><b>Setting Up VNC<\/b><\/h2><ol>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\"><b>Set VNC Password:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">Open a terminal on your VPS.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">Run the command: <code>vncpasswd \/etc\/vncpasswd<\/code><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">Follow the prompts to set a secure password for VNC access.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol><h2 id=\"h_bf8234cf7c\"><b>Managing Users<\/b><\/h2><ol>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\"><b>Add a New User:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">To add a new user, use the command: <code>adduser &lt;username&gt;<\/code><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">Follow the prompts to set up the new user account.<br>&#8203;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\"><b>Reset Password for Existing User:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">To reset the password for an existing user (e.g., the default &lsquo;ubuntu&rsquo; user), use the command: <code>passwd ubuntu<\/code><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">Enter the new password when prompted.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol><p class=\"no-margin\">To connect to your VPS using VNC, you will need a VNC client installed on your local computer.
