If you’re moving from Outlook or Microsoft 365 to Hostinger Email, you may notice that the automatic migration tool doesn’t work. Microsoft Exchange and some Outlook-derived email accounts no longer support standard IMAP migration by default.<\/p>
But no worries — you can still migrate your emails manually by exporting and importing them through the Outlook app.<\/p>
Before importing your emails: <\/b>Ensure your original Outlook email account is still active on your desktop app.<\/p>
Step 1: Export data from Outlook<\/b><\/p>
Use the built-in export feature to generate a backup:<\/p>
On Windows<\/b>, export your data as a .PST file. (Check Windows export guide<\/a>)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n On Mac<\/b>, export it as a .OLM file. (Check Mac export guide<\/a>)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul> Step 2: Create Your Hostinger Email Mailbox <\/b><\/p> Ensure your Hostinger email plan is set up and your mailbox is created<\/a> and connected.<\/p> You can add it as an IMAP account through Outlook. For best compatibility, you must connect it using a Microsoft-based profile (e.g., your @hotmail account). Avoid newer 2023-onwards versions and follow Setting Up Email on Microsoft Outlook 2019, 2016, and More<\/a>. Read more about Outlook’s limitations here<\/a>.<\/p> Once connected, open your Hostinger email account on Outlook and:<\/p> Go to the File<\/b> tab and select Open & Export > Import\/Export <\/b><\/p>\n<\/li>\n Choose your .PST <\/b>(Windows) or .OLM<\/b> (Mac) file<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Select your Hostinger email as the target inbox<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul> Once the process is done, your messages will start syncing to your Hostinger mailbox.<\/p> Keep in mind that the “File” tab might not appear depending on your Outlook app version. In such cases, look for the “Open & Export” tab.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div> Large backups may take more time to import and sync.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Keep both accounts active in Outlook until the import completes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Want to confirm everything synced?
