Web2Agent is an experimental Hostinger feature that makes your WordPress or Hostinger AI Builder manual mode website accessible to AI agents through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). Web2Agent currently works best with Claude, Cursor, and other tools that support MCP. To use Web2Agent, enable it in the Hostinger Tools plugin for WordPress or in General settings for Hostinger AI Builder manual mode, then connect your website to an MCP-compatible AI tool.<\/p>

As the internet shifts toward an agent-driven future, this feature helps position your website as a first-class participant in that ecosystem – intelligent, accessible, and interoperable.<\/span><\/p>

Why opt in?<\/h2>

By enabling Web2Agent, Hostinger transforms your website into an AI-ready agent, making it easier for other AI systems to access, process, and interact with your content. Any updates to your site – such as new articles or structural changes – are automatically tracked and synchronized, ensuring AI tools always work with the most up-to-date version.<\/span><\/p>

This process is fully automated, happening seamlessly in the background without altering your site’s design or requiring manual management. It also future-proofs your online presence as AI becomes a more common way for users to explore the web.<\/span><\/p>

Designed with privacy in mind, Web2Agent respects industry standards like robots.txt and llms.txt<\/a>, keeping you in full control. Participation is entirely optional, and you can turn it off at any time with no impact on your site’s visible content.<\/span><\/p>

How to enable Web2Agent in Hostinger<\/h2>

Enable Web2Agent in WordPress<\/h3>

  1. Open the WordPress Admin area.<\/li>\n
  2. Go to Hostinger<\/b> → Tools<\/b>.

      Using Web2Agent with AI Tools<\/h2>

      Activating the Web2Agent service initiates a crawl of your website to gather its context. This process usually takes 2–15 minutes, depending on your site’s size. Once crawling is complete, your website is ready to handle AI agent requests. To check how AI tools see your website, scan it with the Hostinger AI Visibility Checker<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>

      A great way to test the feature capabilities yourself is by integrating it with an AI tool like Claude Desktop. <\/span><\/p>

      Before you connect Web2Agent to Claude Desktop<\/h3>

      • Install Claude Desktop on Windows or macOS. The Claude web and mobile apps don’t use this configuration file.<\/li>\n
      • Install Node.js on your computer. The configuration runs the npx command, which is included with Node.js.<\/li>\n<\/ul>

        How to connect Web2Agent to Claude Desktop<\/h3>

        To begin, open the Claude Desktop settings and go to the Developer section. There, you will find an Edit Config option, which will open the <\/span>claude_desktop_config.json<\/span><\/i> file. You need to edit this file to add your Web2Agent website agent to Claude Desktop. <\/span><\/p>

        Once added, you should be able to see your website in the tools list. If it is disabled, enable it.<\/span><\/p>

        1. Wait 2–15 minutes after enabling Web2Agent so the crawl can finish.<\/li>\n
        2. Check that the file is saved as claude_desktop_config.json, not claude_desktop_config.json.txt.<\/li>\n
        3. Run node –version and npx –version in a terminal to confirm that Node.js is installed.<\/li>\n
        4. Fully quit Claude Desktop from the system tray or menu bar, then reopen it and start a new chat.<\/li>\n<\/ol>
          The Web2Agent feature allows you to integrate your website content with different tools that support the MCP protocol, like we did with Claude Desktop. You can also use any programming language to create a custom application that uses your own website content as well.<\/span><\/p>
          Transparency and data handling<\/h2>
          When you opt in, Hostinger securely shares only relevant website update events, such as when content is published or when your site’s structure changes. This data is sent to Hostinger’s Web2Agent service. This data is used exclusively to maintain your site’s up-to-date AI representation and enhance its accessibility for agent-based tools.<\/span><\/p>
          No visitor activity is tracked, and no personal user data is collected.
