If you are using web Single hosting, you need to upgrade<\/a> your plan to host more websites. To free up a website slot on your current plan instead, delete a website from your hosting plan<\/a> that you no longer need.<\/p>
For VPS hosting<\/strong>, website creation depends on your control panel or operating system template. Follow the documentation specific to your VPS setup.<\/p>
Adding a website consists of two main steps:<\/p>

- Create the website in Hostinger dashboard<\/li>\n
- Connect the domain<\/li>\n<\/ol>
Step 1 – Select the hosting plan and website type<\/h2>

Open Hostinger dashboard<\/strong> and go to Websites<\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

Locate the hosting plan where you want to add the website<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Choose one of the following options:<\/p>\n
- \n
- Create website<\/strong> – for creating a new website on this hosting plan<\/li>\n
- Import website<\/strong> – if you are moving an existing website from another provider. For website migration, follow this guide instead: Migrate a website to Hostinger<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>
Next, select the website type.<\/p>

Hostinger AI Builder <\/strong>– A prompt-based AI application builder or visual drag-and-drop website builder<\/a>, you can start with a free trial<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

WordPress <\/strong>– Create a website using WordPress<\/a> with AI-powered design and content tools.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- Custom PHP\/HTML website<\/strong> – Use this option to upload custom code or install applications<\/a> such as Joomla or PrestaShop. During setup, choose to start with an empty website or upload an archive of your existing website files to deploy it directly — see How to upload a website from backups<\/a> for the full steps.<\/li>\n
- Web App<\/strong> – Availability varies per hosting plan:\n

- Node.js Web App<\/b> – Supports backend functionality for Node.js applications<\/a>. Available on web Business\/Unlimited and cloud plans<\/li>\n
- Static frontend web app<\/strong> – Deploy Node.js-based frontend applications<\/a> on managed hosting. Available on Agency hosting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
- Clone websites <\/strong>– Duplicate<\/a> a WordPress website from a Hostinger web or cloud plan to an Agency plan. Available only for Agency hosting.<\/li>\n<\/ul>
Follow the onboarding steps shown in Hostinger dashboard. These vary depending on the website type you select. Eligible customers see agent-led onboarding with Hostinger Agent, a chat-based setup, when they add a website to an existing hosting plan. Choose a domain or subdomain<\/h3>
If you are prompted to choose a domain, you can enter:<\/p>

A domain name you already own, for example
domain.tld<\/code><\/p>\n- \n
- \n
If the domain belongs to a different Hostinger account, ownership verification<\/a> is required.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
A subdomain of a domain you own, for example
store.domain.tld<\/code><\/p>\n<\/li>\n- \n
A new domain name available for registration<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>
You can also continue with a temporary domain<\/strong> and connect a custom domain later. By default, new Hostinger AI Builder websites are created on a temporary domain, without prompting for a custom domain during setup.<\/p>
If the domain or subdomain is already in use on another Hostinger hosting plan, it must be released<\/a> before it can be used, or you can choose a different or temporary domain.<\/div>After completing this first step, the website is added to Hostinger dashboard. It appears on the Home<\/strong> page under the Business<\/strong> section, and on the Websites<\/strong> <\/a>page, where you can manage its settings and continue editing.<\/p>
The indicator shown next to the website name reflects the website type.<\/p>

<\/p>Step 2 – Connect the domain<\/h2>
This step covers two related actions:<\/p>

- assigning a custom domain or subdomain to the website<\/li>\n
- pointing the domain so the website becomes accessible online<\/li>\n<\/ul>
Depending on how the website was created, one or both actions may be required.<\/p>
Change from temporary to custom domain<\/h3>
Websites created on a temporary domain are available shortly after creation.<\/p>
If you want to use a custom domain or subdomain instead, you need to assign it to the website by following the guide that matches your website type:<\/p>

This step links the domain to the website. Additional DNS changes to point the domain may still be required.<\/p>
Point the custom domain<\/h3>
Websites using a custom domain or subdomain<\/strong> must point to Hostinger before they become accessible online.<\/p>

If the domain already points to Hostinger nameservers<\/strong>, no further action is required and the website becomes available shortly.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

If the domain uses external nameservers<\/strong> (for example, Cloudflare), DNS records must be updated at the provider managing the domain.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>
