Transferring a domain<\/a> to Hostinger moves your domain’s registration to Hostinger so you can manage your domain, hosting, and email together in the same dashboard. This guide covers the transfer requirements, how to initiate a single domain transfer, how to transfer up to 10 domains in bulk, and how to choose between keeping your current nameservers or switching to Hostinger’s nameservers.<\/p>

Check-up before you start the transfer<\/h2>

Before initiating a domain transfer, make sure that:<\/p>

  1. \n

    Check your domain’s extension (TLD). We have prepared specific guides for .br domains<\/a>, .lt domains<\/a>, and .uk domains<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  2. \n

    You have full ownership and control of the domain name you want to transfer to us<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  3. \n

    60 days have passed since the domain was registered at (or transferred to) the current domain provider.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  4. To avoid renewal-reversal issues, the domain should be transferred at least 45 days after its last renewal<\/strong>. If a transfer is initiated within 45 days of the last renewal, it may fall within the Auto-Renew Grace Period — in this case, the previous registrar’s renewal gets reverted at the registry level, and the transfer only adds one year back, so the expiration date won’t extend as expected.<\/li>\n
  5. \n

    The domain is active: not suspended by the registry and not in the redemption period<\/a><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  6. \n

    You have a valid EPP\/Auth code<\/a> from your current registrar (or an authorization code for .eu domains<\/a>).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  7. \n

    Ensure DNSSEC is disabled. You can verify your DNSSEC status using the DNSSEC Checker<\/a> tool.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>

    Since domain transfers can take a few days<\/a>, it’s best to start the transfer when your domain has at least 7 days left before it expires.<\/p>

    Initiate the transfer<\/h2>

    To initiate the transfer, follow these steps:<\/p>

      Unlock your domain<\/a> from the current registrar.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    2. \n

      Open the Hostinger Transfer Domain<\/a> page (or Transfer Domain<\/a> if you already have a Hostinger account).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    3. \n

      Insert your domain name and click on Transfer.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    4. \n

      Proceed with the payment.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    5. \n

      Enter the EPP code.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    6. \n

      Choose whether you want to keep your current nameservers or use Hostinger nameservers and initiate the transfer. You will also have the option to keep your current records if you choose Hostinger nameservers.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>

      After completing your order, the domain transfer process will begin. You’ll receive an email about the transfer — be sure to confirm it.<\/p>

      If you have issues with your domain’s EPP\/Auth code, unlocking the domain, or changing DNSSEC settings, reach out to your current provider for assistance. If Hostinger rejects your EPP code shortly after you unlock the domain, wait a couple of hours and try again, because the lock change can take that long to apply.<\/p>\n<\/div>

      Add a 1 year renewal during checkout<\/h3>

      Select Add a 1 year renewal<\/strong> during checkout to add an extra year to your domain’s expiration date after the transfer completes. The extra year stacks on top of the one year domains already receive from the transfer itself.<\/p>

      Transfer multiple domains in bulk<\/h2>

      Transfer up to 10 domains to Hostinger in a single flow instead of repeating the process for each domain individually. You can do it from Hostinger dashboard or open the Hostinger Transfer Domain<\/a> page and select Bulk transfer.<\/strong><\/p>

      Follow these steps to transfer multiple domains from Hostinger dashboard:<\/p>

      1. Go to Hostinger dashboard<\/strong> → Domains<\/strong> → Transfers <\/strong>→ Transfer to Hostinger.

      2. Then select Bulk transfer.

      3. Enter each domain name, or select Upload CSV<\/strong> to import a list from a file.

      4. Review the results. Domains that meet the transfer requirements are marked Ready to transfer<\/strong>, while domains with unmet requirements show the reason, such as a locked domain or a domain that isn’t registered. Resolve the issue at your current registrar, then select Check again<\/strong> to update that domain’s status.

      5. Select Transfer <\/strong>to proceed with only the eligible domains from the batch.<\/li>\n
      6. Proceed with payment and enter the EPP code for each domain, following the same steps as a single domain transfer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>

        The same eligibility requirements described before apply to each domain in a bulk transfer. The results page also tracks each domain’s transfer status after you submit the batch, so you don’t need to check each transfer individually.<\/p>

        What to do if you get an error?<\/h2>

        Domain is locked and cannot be transferred.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

        The domain is still locked on the registrar’s part. If you unlocked your domain recently, it might take up to a couple of hours for the change to take place.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

        Sorry, this top-level domain cannot be transferred to Hostinger at the moment.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n
