File transfer and server access support at Hostinger depends mainly on the hosting plan tier, since several of these features require SSH or root access. SFTP, rsync, and symlinks need at least a Premium-level plan or above, while others — FXP, IPNAT, editing httpd.conf, and setting up vhosts — are reserved for VPS Hosting due to security or server-architecture reasons. mod_rewrite, SVN, and Dreamweaver publishing work on Web and Cloud plans without any extra setup. Is SFTP access enabled at Hostinger?<\/h2>

SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) offers a more secure method of file transfer over networks compared to standard FTP, which is also available on any hosting plan.<\/p>

We do provide<\/b> Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) access with our Web Premium<\/a><\/b> hosting plans and above. SFTP provides a completely secure file transfer<\/b> from your local computer to your website’s server. You can follow this guide: How to Connect Using SFTP<\/a>.<\/p>

If you have a Web Single<\/b> hosting plan and you want to use SFTP, you can consider an upgrade<\/a><\/b> – this way, you will get SFTP and SSH access, as well as significantly increase your hosting resources.<\/p>

Is Rsync enabled at Hostinger?<\/h2>

Rsync (remote synchronization) is a Linux tool used to synchronize data and transfer files between devices. Since it only transfers the differences between the source and destination, it reduces the amount of data sent over the network, making it a fast and efficient option for backups and secure file transfer between local and remote systems. It also preserves file permissions, timestamps, and ownership during the synchronization process.<\/p>

Since rsync requires SSH access<\/b>, it can be used on our Web Premium<\/a><\/b>, Web Business<\/a> <\/b>and Cloud<\/a> <\/b>hosting plans. Is FXP supported at Hostinger?<\/h2>

FXP (File eXchange Protocol) is a method used for transferring files directly<\/b> between two remote FTP servers without routing the data through the client’s device. In FXP, the transfer occurs server-to-server, allowing for faster file transfers compared to traditional FTP methods where data flows through the client’s local computer.<\/p>

Can I set up vhosts on my hosting at Hostinger?<\/h2>

Vhosts (virtual hosts) can’t be set up <\/strong>on Web<\/a> <\/strong>and Cloud<\/a> <\/strong>hosting packages. If you need to configure vhosts, consider a VPS Hosting plan<\/a><\/strong> instead.<\/p>

Is editing httpd.conf possible at Hostinger?<\/h2>

Web<\/strong> <\/a>and Cloud<\/strong> <\/a>hosting plans at Hostinger use LiteSpeed, a fast and efficient web server alternative to Apache. Since LiteSpeed doesn’t need the httpd.conf file, it isn’t possible<\/strong> to access or edit it on these plans.<\/p>

Most changes to a website’s settings can be made using the .htaccess file instead<\/strong>. If you need direct access to httpd.conf, consider VPS Hosting<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>

Are IPNAT modules supported at Hostinger?<\/h2>

IP Network Address Translation (IPNAT) modules facilitate the translation of IP addresses between different network domains. Their primary purpose is to allow multiple devices within a private network to share a single public IP address for outgoing traffic.<\/p>

Adobe Dreamweaver is a web design and Integrated Development Environment (IDE) application used to develop and design websites.<\/p>

Dreamweaver is fully supported and works<\/strong> with Hostinger, so there are no issues developing and publishing a website with it.<\/p>
