Delete a website to free up a slot for a new website, or to release its domain name for use on a different hosting plan or Hostinger account.<\/p><h3>Before you start<\/h3><ul>\n<li>Ensure your hosting plan is <a data-click-id=\"hgr-post-content-link-active\" class=\"intercom-content-link\" href=\"\/support\/4146981-what-to-do-if-your-hosting-plan-becomes-inactive\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">active<\/a> to access and download any necessary data.<\/li>\n<\/ul><div class=\"intercom-interblocks-callout\" style=\"background-color: #e3e7fa80;border-color: #334bfa33\">Backups for Hostinger AI Builder are not downloadable. These will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered once the website is removed.<\/div><h2 id=\"h_677dbae288\">Step 1 &ndash; Prepare backups<\/h2><p class=\"no-margin\">Before you remove your website, it is strongly advised to download backups. This action is irreversible, and all files, databases, and configurations will be lost.<\/p><ol>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">Download your website&rsquo;s <a data-click-id=\"hgr-post-content-link-files-and-databases\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/5981435-how-to-download-backups-at-hostinger\/\">files and databases<\/a> to your local device.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">(Optional) <a data-click-id=\"hgr-post-content-link-backup\" href=\"https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/5778153-how-to-export-emails-using-hostinger-webmail\/\">Backup<\/a> your emails.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol><p class=\"no-margin\">Once you have secured your data, proceed to the next step.<\/p><h2 id=\"h_e28c9bd535\">Step 2 &ndash; Delete the website<\/h2><p>To remove the website from your hosting plan, follow these steps:<\/p><ol>\n<li>Go to the <a data-click-id=\"hgr-post-content-link-websites\" class=\"intercom-content-link\" href=\"https:\/\/hpanel.hostinger.com\/websites\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Websites<\/a> section of Hostinger dashboard.<\/li>\n<li>Locate the website you want to remove and click on the options button (&#8942;).<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Click <\/span><strong>Delete<\/strong>.<br>\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-20634\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2026\/10\/2026-10-15_11-48.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1287\" height=\"598\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2026\/10\/2026-10-15_11-48.png 1287w, https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2026\/10\/2026-10-15_11-48-300x139.png 300w, https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2026\/10\/2026-10-15_11-48-1024x476.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2026\/10\/2026-10-15_11-48-768x357.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1287px) 100vw, 1287px\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Review the confirmation dialog. Deleting a website permanently removes all files and databases.<\/li>\n<li>If you wish to remove the associated email service (Hostinger Mail or Titan Mail), check the <strong>Delete email service<\/strong> checkbox.
