Step 1 – Preparations<\/h2>
First, make sure that:<\/p>

An FTP client is installed on your device; we recommend FileZilla<\/a> <\/b>(client version).<\/b><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

You have your website’s FTP information<\/a> ready. You can find it by navigating to Websites → Dashboard<\/b>, searching for FTP Accounts<\/b> in the sidebar, and clicking on it.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>

Step 2 – Connection<\/h2>
Using FileZilla as an example, you have two main options to establish a connection.<\/p>
Option 1 – Direct Access<\/h3>
Open FileZilla and fill in the Quickconnect section with the FTP details you got from the FTP Accounts<\/b> section:<\/p>

Host<\/b>: The FTP IP<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

<\/div>Enter your FTP account password in the corresponding field and click Quickconnect<\/b>. The first time you connect to a server, you may encounter an Unknown certificate message. To proceed, check the Always trust this certificate in future sessions<\/b> option and click OK<\/b>:<\/p>

<\/div>If successfully connected, you will get a Status: Logged in <\/b>message in the area below the Quickconnect bar.<\/p>
Option 2 – Site Manager<\/h3>
With Site Manager<\/b>, you can save your connection details, adjust the encryption type, or the protocol (FTP or SFTP<\/a>).<\/p>

Open Site Manager<\/b> in FileZilla:

Click on New site<\/b>:

Then, configure the settings as follows, using the information from the FTP Accounts<\/b> section:<\/p>

Protocol<\/b>: Selcect FTP – File Transfer Protocol<\/b> from the dropdown.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

Host<\/b>: The FTP IP<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

Port<\/b>: 21<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Encryption<\/b>: Select Only use plain FTP<\/b><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

Logon type<\/b>: Normal<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
User<\/b>: FTP username<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
- \n
Password<\/b>: Your FPT password<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>
Click on Connect<\/b>, <\/b>and if the details entered are correct, a Status: Logged in<\/b> message will confirm the connection.<\/p>
