In addition to your password, you will enter a time-sensitive code generated by an authenticator application. This ensures that even if someone learns your password, they cannot access your email account without your authorization device.<\/p><h3>Before you start<\/h3><ul>\n<li>Ensure you have a smartphone or a computer ready to install an authenticator application.<\/li>\n<li>Download a Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP) application.<\/li>\n<li>Recommended options include:\n<ul>\n<li>Google Authenticator (iOS, Android)<\/li>\n<li>Microsoft Authenticator (iOS, Android)<\/li>\n<li>Apple Passwords (iOS, macOS)<\/li>\n<li>Authy (iOS, Android, Desktop)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul><h2 id=\"h-step-1-enable-2fa-in-webmail\">Step 1 &ndash; Enable 2FA in Webmail<\/h2><ul>\n<li>Log in to <strong>Hostinger Webmail.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Click on <strong>All Settings<\/strong> &#9881;&#65039; in the top-right corner.<\/li>\n<li>Select the <strong>Account<\/strong> section.<\/li>\n<li>Locate the Two-factor authentication option and select<strong> Add 2FA.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Open your chosen authenticator application on your device, choose the option to add an account, and scan the QR code displayed on the screen.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the <strong>6-digit confirmation code<\/strong> generated by your app into <strong>Webmail<\/strong> to complete the setup.<\/li>\n<\/ul><p><strong>NOTES<\/strong><\/p><ul>\n<li>Always save the provided backup codes in a secure location, such as a password manager.<\/li>\n<li>These backup codes are required to access your account if you lose your authenticator device.<\/li>\n<\/ul><h2 id=\"h-step-2-disable-2fa-optional\">Step 2 &ndash; Disable 2FA (Optional)<\/h2><p>If you need to turn off two-factor authentication at any point, follow these steps while you still have access to your account:<\/p><ul>\n<li>Log in to <strong>Hostinger Webmail.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Navigate to <strong>All Settings &#10095; Account.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>Disable 2FA<\/strong> and confirm the choice.<\/li>\n<\/ul><h2 id=\"h-troubleshooting-lost-authenticator-access\">Troubleshooting: Lost authenticator access<\/h2><p>If you cannot log in to Webmail because you lost your authenticator device or backup codes, you must reset the 2FA settings through hPanel.<\/p><h3>If you are the account owner or administrator<\/h3><ul>\n<li>Log in to hPanel.<\/li>\n<li>Navigate to the Emails section and locate the affected mailbox.<\/li>\n<li>Click the three-dots menu (:) next to the mailbox<\/li>\n<li>Select the option to Disable 2FA<\/li>\n<li>Log back in to Webmail normally and configure 2FA again.<\/li>\n<\/ul><div class=\"intercom-interblocks-callout\" style=\"background-color: #e3e7fa80;border-color: #334bfa33\">\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>: The Disable 2FA option is currently displayed for all mailboxes in hPanel, regardless of whether 2FA is actually enabled on that mailbox.<\/p>\n<\/div><h3>If you do not have hPanel access<\/h3><ul>\n<li>Contact your email administrator or account owner and request that they disable 2FA for your mailbox using the hPanel steps listed above.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Secure your Hostinger Webmail account by enabling two-factor authentication with an authenticator app.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":597,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"include_on_kodee":true,"footnotes":""},"categories":[159,176],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-11883","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-email","category-hostinger-email-management"],"hreflangs":[],"include_on_kodee":true,"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/11883","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/597"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=11883"}],"version-history":[{"count":4,"href":"https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/11883\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":11976,"href":"https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/11883\/revisions\/11976"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=11883"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=11883"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=11883"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
