This is generally referred to as a subdomain. The domain name is automatically appended, so you do not need to add it manually.<\/p><div class=\"intercom-interblocks-callout\" style=\"background-color: #e3e7fa80;border-color: #334bfa33\">\n<p class=\"no-margin\">If Hostinger CDN is enabled, modifying the <code>www<\/code> CNAME record may affect your website&rsquo;s functionality. Consider <a class=\"intercom-content-link\" href=\"\/support\/7935917-hostinger-cdn-website-optimization\/#h_cb55d22321\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fully disabling<\/a> the CDN before making changes.<\/p>\n<\/div><h3 id=\"h_16011a37e2\">Target (Points to)<\/h3><p class=\"no-margin\">The Target field indicates the <b>destination<\/b> the CNAME should point to. Make sure to review and confirm that both name and target are correct to ensure that your CNAME record works as intended.<\/p><h3 id=\"h_5d999769fe\">TTL<\/h3><p class=\"no-margin\">If you haven&rsquo;t received specific TTL requirements from the service where you want to point your domain, you can use the default TTL value of 14400 seconds (four hours).<\/p><p class=\"no-margin\">After making any changes to your CNAME records, consider <b>up to 24 hours<\/b> for them to <b><a class=\"intercom-content-link\" href=\"\/support\/4146975-what-is-dns-propagation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fully propagate<\/a><\/b>.<\/p><h2 id=\"how-to-edit-or-delete-cname-records-\">How to edit or delete CNAME records<\/h2><p class=\"no-margin\">If you want to apply changes or remove an existing record, go to your domain&rsquo;s DNS Zone Editor and select accordingly:<\/p><div class=\"intercom-container intercom-align-center\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-12454\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2026\/07\/2026-07-13_12-06_1-300x68.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"865\" height=\"196\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2026\/07\/2026-07-13_12-06_1-300x68.png 300w, https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2026\/07\/2026-07-13_12-06_1-1024x232.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2026\/07\/2026-07-13_12-06_1-768x174.png 768w, https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2026\/07\/2026-07-13_12-06_1-1536x348.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2026\/07\/2026-07-13_12-06_1.png 1702w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 865px) 100vw, 865px\" \/><\/div><ol>\n<li>Clicking this will show a confirmation prompt.
