{"id":1085,"date":"2021-03-09T12:39:01","date_gmt":"2021-03-09T12:39:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.hostinger.io\/support\/2021\/03\/09\/5016411-how-to-change-domain-contact-details-for-es-domains-at-hostinger\/"},"modified":"2026-03-16T12:12:11","modified_gmt":"2026-03-16T12:12:11","slug":"5016411-how-to-change-domain-contact-details-for-es-domains-at-hostinger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hostinger.com\/support\/5016411-how-to-change-domain-contact-details-for-es-domains-at-hostinger\/","title":{"rendered":"How to Change Domain Contact Details for .es Domains at Hostinger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"no-margin\">Generally, if you want to change the domain contact details, you should go to <b>Domains <\/b>&rarr;<b> Domain portfolio<\/b>, click on <b>Manage <\/b>next to the domain in question, and open the <b>Domain ownership<\/b> tab.<\/p><p class=\"no-margin\">However, if you try to update the domain owner&rsquo;s (registrant) contact details for an .es domain, you&rsquo;ll notice that the <b>Change contacts<\/b> option is<b> <\/b>disabled in hPanel:<\/p><div class=\"intercom-container intercom-align-center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2021\/03\/b9241927-a3ad-4f62-94ca-69505bb20abf.jpg\" alt=\"Changing the administrative and technical contact details for .ES domains\" width=\"400\"><\/div><p class=\"no-margin\">This is because ESNIC &mdash; the authority of all .es domains &mdash; requires that any changes to the domain&rsquo;s owner contact details are made directly on their platform. However, you can still make changes to the administrative or technical contact information on your panel:<\/p><div class=\"intercom-container intercom-align-center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2021\/03\/0467710e-f673-46ab-88cd-08089f974a82.jpg\" alt=\"Changing the administrative and technical contact details for .ES domains\" width=\"400\"><\/div><p class=\"no-margin\">To change the registrant contact details, follow the steps below &#128071;<\/p><h2 id=\"h_d153a76213\">Step 1 &mdash; Create the new contact detail profile<\/h2><p class=\"no-margin\">Choose the type of contact details that can be changed:<\/p><ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\"><b>Administrative<\/b> &ndash; main manager of the domain.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\"><b>Technical<\/b> &ndash; webmaster or IT department.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul><p class=\"no-margin\"><b>NOTE<\/b>: This step is important to retrieve the ESNIC handle you would need to use for the registrant change. The ESNIC handle needs to be created from Hostinger.<\/p><p class=\"no-margin\">Please refrain from using the ESNIC handle generated outside of Hostinger.<\/p><p class=\"no-margin\">Click on <b>Change contacts<\/b>, and select <b>Create new profile<\/b>:<\/p><div class=\"intercom-container\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2021\/03\/df999490-8f91-4d03-8099-9d92ea90e1f0.jpg\"><\/div><p class=\"no-margin\">Fill in all the details and click on <b>Create profile<\/b>:<\/p><div class=\"intercom-container intercom-align-center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2021\/03\/fb4028e4-352c-42b1-beed-cfb5269e07db.jpg\" alt=\"The contact details form to create a new profile\"><\/div><p class=\"no-margin\">Once you have updated&nbsp;<span style=\"margin: 0px;padding: 0px\">your contact details, please reach out to&nbsp;<strong>our Customer Success team,&nbsp;<\/strong>and we will assist you in generating the ESNIC handle<\/span>.<\/p><div class=\"intercom-interblocks-callout\" style=\"background-color: #e3e7fa80;border-color: #334bfa33\">Generating ESNIC handle can take&nbsp;<strong>24-48 hours.<\/strong><\/div><div class=\"intercom-container\"><\/div><h2 id=\"h_b465a903bb\">Step 2 &ndash; Access your nic.es account<\/h2><p class=\"no-margin\"><a class=\"intercom-content-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nic.es\/sgnd\/login.action\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Log into your nic.es account<\/a> using your NIC identifier and password. To find your NIC identifier, search for your domain name on <a class=\"intercom-content-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dominios.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dominios.es<\/a>. The identifier is shown under your registrant data:<\/p><div class=\"intercom-container intercom-align-center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2021\/03\/d6fd99c8-33f1-42bc-b809-98a79d71f0a0.jpg\" alt=\"Locating the NIC identifier\" width=\"400\"><\/div><p class=\"no-margin\">If you don&rsquo;t have a password, click on <a class=\"intercom-content-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nic.es\/sgnd\/contacto\/passRecoverInicializar.action?tContacto.nicHandle=\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Retrieve password<\/a>.<\/p><h2 id=\"h_c96e677a4a\">Step 3 &ndash; Change the domain&rsquo;s contact details<\/h2><p class=\"no-margin\">Head to the<b> Domain Transfer Request<\/b> section and enter your domain name:<\/p><div class=\"intercom-container intercom-align-center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2021\/03\/15e2d378-7118-4aaf-92e5-b39561907b14.jpg\" alt=\"Changing the domain owner's contact details for .ES domains\" width=\"500\"><\/div><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Scroll down to fill in the new domain registrant&rsquo;s details (ACP) by <\/span><b>inserting the NIC identifiers (ESNIC handle) that have been provided\/generated previously by the Hostinger agent; <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">do not use NIC identifiers created somewhere else. Both identifiers can be the same in the case of persons. The ACP contact must not be a corporation:<\/span><\/p><div class=\"intercom-container intercom-align-center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2021\/03\/85721ec0-08a3-4881-9363-434421922c16.jpg\" alt=\"Changing the domain owner's contact details for .ES domains\" width=\"500\"><\/div><p class=\"no-margin\">Next, sign the application using an electronic DNI\/certificate or by uploading a photocopy of the national identity or certifying document. Once done, click on Continue:<\/p><div class=\"intercom-container intercom-align-center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2021\/03\/449012ec-aef0-4a2d-bcf9-bbcf7347bf8c.jpg\" alt=\"Changing the domain owner's contact details for .ES domains\" width=\"500\"><\/div><p class=\"no-margin\">The maximum file size allowed is 4 MB. If you have issues attaching it, try resizing it until it is uploaded correctly.<\/p><h2 id=\"h_eaee021031\">Step 4 &ndash; Confirm the request<\/h2><div class=\"intercom-interblocks-callout\" style=\"background-color: #e3e7fa80;border-color: #334bfa33\">\n<p class=\"no-margin\">If the current domain owner doesn&rsquo;t verify the request within 10 days, it&rsquo;s automatically canceled &#128161;<\/p>\n<\/div><p class=\"no-margin\"><b>An email is sent to the new owner and administrative contact to confirm the request.<\/b><\/p><div class=\"intercom-container\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2021\/03\/15e94d7f-db2c-40c5-90d9-8bec5ea8720b.jpg\"><\/div><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Make sure to keep logging in to your nic ES account and perform the following actions:<\/span><\/p><ol>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\"><b>Accept the transmission process<\/b> &ndash; click on <b>Yes.<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">\n<\/p><\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\"><b>Confirm the domain&rsquo;s data<\/b> &ndash; you&rsquo;ll see an option to change the registrar. Make sure to indicate <b>REGISTRAR.EU<\/b> (our vendor code at nic.es) as the accredited registrar:<br>\n&#8203;<\/p>\n<div class=\"intercom-container\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2021\/03\/a05ef2b7-9054-4519-8090-fbde835322f0.jpg\" alt=\"Changing the domain owner's contact details for .ES domains\"><\/div>\n<p class=\"no-margin\">\n<\/p><\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\"><b>Sign the transmission agreement<\/b> &ndash; use an electronic DNI\/certificate or upload a photocopy of the national identity or certifying document.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol><div class=\"intercom-interblocks-callout\" style=\"background-color: #e3e7fa80;border-color: #334bfa33\">\n<p class=\"no-margin\">It&rsquo;s very important that you select Registrar.eu as the accredited registrar. Otherwise, your domain will be transferred out from Hostinger to the registry management directly &#128161;<\/p>\n<\/div><p class=\"no-margin\">After receiving confirmation that the action was successful and is pending review.<\/p><div class=\"intercom-container\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/55\/2021\/03\/0f752976-2527-40a0-8da4-eeee5eb96ec7.jpg\"><\/div><h2 id=\"h_bc22ea1a17\">Step 5 &ndash; Request for profile synchronization<\/h2><div class=\"intercom-interblocks-callout\" style=\"background-color: #e3e7fa80;border-color: #334bfa33\">Please notify us immediately, along with the screenshot of the change request proof on NIC.ES, so we can finalize the process with the .es domain registrar.<\/div><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If the ownership change is not approved within 10 days, the domain will be automatically transferred to the registry.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Finally, nic.es will review and verify the request. If everything is correct, it will be accepted.
