When you make a payment, your bank may trigger a challenge &mdash; such as a one-time password (OTP) sent to your phone, a biometric confirmation, or a redirect to your bank&rsquo;s authentication page &mdash; before approving the charge.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">At Hostinger, 3DS is required for card payments as part of our commitment to keeping your billing information secure.<\/span><\/p><h2 id=\"h-first-thing-to-try-retry-the-payment-once\"><b>First thing to try: retry the payment once<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If this is the first time the payment failed, it&rsquo;s worth attempting it once more before investigating further. The most common cause is simply a session timeout &mdash; the 3DS verification window expired before it could be completed, and a fresh attempt will go through without any issues.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If it fails a second time, work through the scenarios below to find the cause before retrying again. Repeatedly attempting the same card without fixing the underlying issue can cause your bank to temporarily flag it.<\/span><\/p><h2 id=\"h-why-did-my-payment-fail\"><b>Why did my payment fail?<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There are several reasons a 3DS verification can fail:<\/span><\/p><ol>\n<li><b> Pop-up blocker or browser extension interference<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> The 3DS authentication page opens as a pop-up or redirect. If your browser is blocking pop-ups or you have extensions like ad blockers active, the page may never load.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#9989; <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fix:<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Try paying in a private\/incognito window with all extensions disabled, or use a different browser entirely.<\/span><\/p><ol start=\"2\">\n<li><b> OTP not received (traveling abroad or wrong number on file)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Your bank sends the one-time password to the phone number registered on your account. If you&rsquo;re overseas using a different SIM, or your number has changed, the code won&rsquo;t reach you.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#9989; <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fix:<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Contact your bank to update your registered mobile number, or ask if they offer app-based authentication as an alternative.<\/span><\/p><ol start=\"3\">\n<li><b> Bank authentication timeout<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Some banks have short windows for completing 3DS verification. If the page takes too long to load or you don&rsquo;t enter the code in time, the transaction is automatically declined.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#9989; <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fix:<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Retry the payment and complete the verification promptly once the page loads. A faster\/more stable internet connection can help.<\/span><\/p><ol start=\"4\">\n<li><b> Card not enrolled in 3DS<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Older cards or cards from certain issuers may not be enrolled in the 3DS program, causing automatic declines on platforms that require it.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#9989; <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fix:<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Contact your bank to enroll your card in 3DS, or use an alternative payment method.<\/span><\/p><ol start=\"5\">\n<li><b> Card restricted for international or online payments<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Some cards are limited to domestic in-person transactions by default. Since Hostinger is an international online merchant, these restrictions will block the payment.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#9989; <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fix:<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Ask your bank to enable international and\/or online payments on your card.<\/span><\/p><ol start=\"6\">\n<li><b> Silent decline (frictionless flow)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> In some cases, your bank automatically approves or declines a transaction in the background without prompting you for a code &mdash; this is called a <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">frictionless flow<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. A silent decline means your bank rejected the transaction without showing you any error on our end.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#9989; <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Fix:<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Contact your bank to find out why the transaction was flagged. There is nothing Hostinger can do to override a silent decline &mdash; it must be resolved with your bank.<\/span><\/p><h2 id=\"h-still-not-working\"><b>Still not working?<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you&rsquo;ve tried the steps above and payments are still failing, we recommend:<\/span><\/p><ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Trying a <\/span><b>different card<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> or payment method (PayPal, Google Pay, or local payment options where available).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Contacting your <\/span><b>bank or card issuer<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> directly &mdash; they can see the exact decline reason and unblock your card if needed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Reaching out to <\/span><b>Hostinger Support<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> if you believe the issue is on our end.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol><h2 id=\"h-seeing-a-charge-on-your-account\"><b>Seeing a charge on your account?<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A failed payment is never collected.
