Generate a key pair with PuTTY on Windows or the terminal on macOS and Linux, then add the public key in the SSH access section of your website&rsquo;s dashboard.<\/p><h3>Before you start<\/h3><ul>\n<li>SSH access is available on Premium or higher hosting plans.<\/li>\n<li><a data-click-id=\"hgr-post-content-link-enable-ssh-access\" href=\"\/support\/1583645-how-to-enable-ssh-access-in-hostinger\/\">Enable SSH access<\/a> for your hosting plan before adding an SSH key.<\/li>\n<\/ul><h2 id=\"h_1a752ac1d3\">Step 1 &mdash; Generate the keys<\/h2><p class=\"no-margin\">Depending on your system, there are these ways to generate SSH keys:<\/p><ul>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\"><b>Windows<\/b> &mdash; for Windows, you can use SSH clients such as <b><a data-click-id=\"hgr-post-content-link-putty\" class=\"intercom-content-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.chiark.greenend.org.uk\/~sgtatham\/putty\/latest.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PuTTY<\/a><\/b>; refer to<b> steps 1-3<\/b> in this tutorial: <b><a data-click-id=\"hgr-post-content-link-how-to-generate-ssh-keys-on-putty\" class=\"intercom-content-link\" href=\"\/tutorials\/how-to-generate-ssh-keys-on-putty\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How to Generate SSH Keys on PuTTY<\/a>.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"no-margin\"><b>Unix-based systems <\/b>(e.g., macOS or Ubuntu) &mdash; you can generate SSH keys <b>straight from the terminal<\/b>; refer to <b>step 1<\/b> in this tutorial: <b><a data-click-id=\"hgr-post-content-link-how-to-set-up-ssh-keys\" class=\"intercom-content-link\" href=\"\/tutorials\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">How to Set Up SSH Keys<\/a>.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul><h2 id=\"h_4c43791a9d\">Step 2 &mdash;
