When you send an email, it will be forwarded from your<\/span><b> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.getmailbird.com\/best-gmail-app-for-windows\/\">email client<\/a><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> (such as<\/span> <a href=\"\/ng\/tutorials\/how-to-set-up-outlook\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Microsoft Outlook,<\/span><\/a> <strong>Gmail<\/strong><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, or<\/span> <a href=\"\/ng\/tutorials\/thunderbird-email-setup\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Mozilla Thunderbird<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">) to the <\/span><b>SMTP server<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. The server will then relay the mail to the recipient&rsquo;s <\/span><b>email server<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The recipient will receive the mail once it&rsquo;s downloaded from the email server via<\/span> <a href=\"\/ng\/tutorials\/email\/pop3-imap-smtp-protocols-explained-ports\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">POP3 or IMAP<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. It provides several benefits that you might want to consider:<\/span><\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Reliable.<\/strong> Google SMTP server doesn&rsquo;t use <a href=\"https:\/\/cloud.google.com\/compute\/docs\/tutorials\/sending-mail\/\">port 25<\/a> to avoid spam flagging. Hence, it gives better email deliverability.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Convenient.<\/strong> No need to set up your own outgoing mail server (if you use VPS).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Secure.<\/strong> It requires two-factor authentication, and emails will be backed up in Google&rsquo;s servers.
