For AI companies and projects, that gives the extension a new branding angle, similar to how .ai, Anguilla&rsquo;s country-code domain, has become widely associated with artificial intelligence.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">.si registration is open worldwide, so a company doesn&rsquo;t need to be based in Slovenia to use the extension. An AI business can choose .si specifically because &ldquo;SI&rdquo; complements its name, product, or positioning.<\/p><h2 class=\"wp-block-heading h-t-title-2\" id=\"h-why-are-si-domains-gaining-attention\">Why are .si domains gaining attention?<\/h2><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The rise of &ldquo;SI&rdquo; as shorthand for &ldquo;super intelligence&rdquo; is bringing new attention to Slovenia&rsquo;s<a aria-label=\"What is tld\" href=\"\/in\/tutorials\/what-is-tld\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"follow\"> <\/a><a href=\"\/in\/tutorials\/what-is-tld\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"follow\">top-level domain<\/a>, extending its use beyond its geographic roots.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The term stepped onto a much bigger stage on September 29, 2026, when President Donald Trump signed an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/fact-sheets\/2026\/09\/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-inaugurates-the-era-of-super-intelligence\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\">executive order<\/a> directing U.S. federal agencies to use &ldquo;Super Intelligence&rdquo; and &ldquo;SI&rdquo; in place of &ldquo;Artificial Intelligence&rdquo; and &ldquo;AI&rdquo; in official communications and other non-statutory documents.<a aria-label=\"Inaugurating the era of super intelligence\" href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2026\/09\/inaugurating-the-era-of-super-intelligence\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"> <\/a><\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By the next day, thousands of new .si domains were being registered.<\/p><p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hostinger saw the surge up close. On September 29, <strong>512 .si domains were registered through Hostinger<\/strong>.
