Jaskaran Rana, a 24 year old coder and music enthusiast from India, explains how learning Django, good user experience and love for electronic music became a 900$ a month in revenue with edmhunters.com. His income comes from advertising – at first he was using Google AdSense, but then decided to go for ad networks dedicated to music which offer value to customer.
Jaskaran explains his major was computer science in college, but he learned to code only in the final years and giving online courses a chance helped him improve a lot. He learned JavaScript, jQuery, HTML/CSS, Python. Then he decided to learn Django, a web framework based on Python.
Talking about all project, Jaskaran explains that he thinks he wasted time fixing SEO-related issues in the beginning – fixing loading times, URL naming, duplicate content. Jaskaran says that he focussed a lot on optimizing his website for speed and content.
